Box Office Collection Animal Day 2: Ranbir Kapoor's Film Crosses ₹ 100 Crore Mark

The second day at the box office for the film "Animal," starring Ranbir Kapoor, witnessed a remarkable milestone as it crossed the ₹100 crore mark in terms of collection. The movie's impressive performance indicates strong audience engagement and a favorable reception. As Ranbir Kapoor takes on the lead role, "Animal" seems to be resonating well with moviegoers, contributing to its substantial box office success.

In addition to Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, "Animal" boasts a star-studded ensemble cast. The film features seasoned actors such as Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, and Shakti Kapoor, all playing pivotal roles. The combination of such a talented and diverse cast adds further anticipation and excitement to the movie, contributing to its overall appeal.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's "Animal" has achieved a remarkable feat by entering the ₹100 crore club. Released on December 1, the film garnered an impressive ₹66 crore on its second day across all languages, surpassing the opening day box office figure of ₹63.8 crore. The cumulative earnings for Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna's movie now stand at ₹129.8 crore.

The star-studded cast, including Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, and Shakti Kapoor, has undoubtedly contributed to the film's success. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the day 1 domestic collections breakdown, revealing ₹54.75 crore for the Hindi version and ₹9.05 crore for South-Indian languages. Adarsh further dubbed "Animal" as the biggest opener for Ranbir Kapoor, describing the movie as "sensational." The film's impressive performance at the box office underscores its widespread appeal and audience acceptance.

In a review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave "Animal" a rating of 1.5 stars. He commented on the film's portrayal of two men facing both physical impairments and mental scars to underscore the theme of a man's world. One character loses taste, smell, and hearing after sustaining six bullet wounds, while the other communicates through a sign language interpreter due to an inability to speak. The climax, a typical feature in vengeance sagas, takes place on an airstrip.

Chatterjee expressed his disappointment with the film's use of these physical shortcomings, stating that they don't serve as a metaphor for the characters but are instead accompanied by an odious justification for the protagonist's actions. He highlighted the film's apparent question to the audience: What motive could be greater than a man's desire to win the attention of his distracted father?

It's also noted that "Animal" clashed with "Sam Bahadur," starring Vicky Kaushal, at the box office.
