"Barbie" and "Succession" were the frontrunners, each receiving nine nominations, marking the highest count for any movie or TV show. Despite its nomination for the best musical or comedy motion picture award, "Barbie" fell short, with "Poor Things" securing the win. The creators of "Barbie" had reason to celebrate at the recent awards ceremony, not leaving empty-handed. The immensely successful film clinched a new accolade for cinematic and box office achievement. Additionally, Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?" from the same movie secured the honor for the best original song.

On the other side of the blockbuster equation, "Oppenheimer," forming the dynamic duo known as Barbenheimer, received a noteworthy eight nominations, making it the second-most nominated movie or TV show. "Oppenheimer" emerged victorious in the category of best drama motion picture, triumphing over notable contenders like Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" and Bradley Cooper's biopic on Leonard Bernstein, titled "Maestro."

The director of "Oppenheimer," Christopher Nolan, claimed a Golden Globe, joining the ranks of actors Robert Downey Jr. and Cillian Murphy, as well as the film's composer, Ludwig Göransson, in the list of award recipients.
