Two Groups Clash in Naya Nagar During Rally Over Minor Dispute

A confrontation unfolded in Mira Road, just outside Mumbai, resulting in the apprehension of 13 individuals. The clash took place amid a procession of vehicles celebrating the opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, strongly emphasized a policy of "zero tolerance" for anyone trying to disturb the peace and order in the state.

A clash between two groups occurred during a rally in Naya Nagar, sparked by a minor scuffle. Contrary to initial worries, the police clarified that it wasn't a case of communal violence but a confrontation between the two groups. The MBVV police swiftly intervened to calm the situation, recognizing the potential for increased tensions, especially given the significance of the Ram Temple inauguration.

Zone I Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Jayant Bajbal, has reassured the public that there have been no reports of communal tensions. He urged citizens not to succumb to rumors. The police have now launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident, examining CCTV footage to identify and apprehend any other individuals involved.

On the day of the clash, the Pran Pratishtha ceremony for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya coincided, leading the Maharashtra government to declare January 22 as a state holiday. Heightened security measures were implemented for the event, including the deployment of Anti-Terrorist Squad commandos.

Responding to the clash, Fadnavis promptly instructed the Police Commissioner to take immediate action, resulting in the arrest of 13 individuals. He remained in close communication with the Mira Bhayander Commissioner of Police into the early hours after the incident, ensuring stringent measures against those responsible.

Fadnavis stated, "Police were instructed to take the strictest action against the culprits. Thirteen have been arrested so far, and a detailed analysis of CCTV footage is underway to identify and apprehend others involved too."

Devendra Fadnavis emphasized a strong stance, stating that there will be no tolerance for anyone trying to enforce their own version of the law and disrupt the peace and order in Maharashtra.
