Three men tragically lost their lives in Karnataka's Gadag district early Monday morning while setting up a banner to celebrate the birthday of Kannada film actor Yash.

The victims have been identified as Hanumanth Harijan (24), Murali Naduvinamani (20), and Naveen Gaaji (20). The incident occurred in Suranagi village, Laxmeshwar taluk, Gadag district, around 1 am.

According to Gadag's Superintendent of Police, Babasaheb Nemagouda, the fatal accident happened as they were installing the banner. Three of them were electrocuted, while three others sustained injuries. The banner had a metal frame that came into contact with a HESCOM wire. The Lakshmeshwar Police Station has registered a case, and an investigation is underway.

The injured individuals were promptly transported to the district hospital for necessary medical attention.

Chandru Lamani, MLA of Shirhatti, who visited the site, urged the public to avoid erecting banners with metallic frames. He also appealed to Yash to consider visiting the families of the deceased.

This unfortunate incident serves as a somber reminder of the potential dangers associated with improper installation of banners, emphasizing the need for caution and safety measures during such celebratory activities.

Celebrated KGF star Yash is set to mark his birthday on January 8. In a recent social media post on January 4, Yash expressed regret, stating that he won't be able to meet his fans on January 8 due to being away.
